What’s happening today…
The Bible has plenty of scriptures giving us specific events that we can recognize and expect to happen near the time when the Lord Jesus Christ will return to rule the earth. We will explore several scriptures and note the events that we should be watching for as believers. Christ himself told us to heed His words and watch for the signs. So we are commanded to be diligent and pay attention to world news.
Matthew 24:4-14 gives us a description of what will be going on politically and socially around the world just prior to His coming. False Christs deceiving many, many wars, multi-national conflicts, famines and earthquakes all over the world. These are promised signs that must happen. They’ve been declared as birth pains that will point to final tribulation and ultimately Christ’s reign on earth.
As many have already experienced, we have already seen some of these things happen: endless wars in the Middle East, wars with Russia, and spiritual deception at a level never before seen. The corruption of Christianity has diluted the Faith, and many are blindly being led into a false sense of salvation. This has led to false teachers and self-proclaimed false prophets teaching dangerous doctrines and performing deceptive signs and wonders that have led many astray, including many Christians.
We must hold to the Word of God and trust Him to guide us in His truth. There is already persecution of believers happening in parts of Africa, the Middle East and China. We can see persecution and many have experienced it, even to the death, in several countries. We should expect this persecution to increase and to peak during the reign of the beast.
In 1 Timothy 4:8-12, we are told how bad the deception will be in the end times. Wicked and evil spirits will be leading many churchgoers into self-righteousness and New Age mysticism. And many will be more than glad to accept and trust in a human-centered gospel. The coming beast ruler will also use Satanic power to deceive most of the world. He will charm and intrigue the lost, and they will gladly embrace his promises of peace and security. Then he will show his true colors and enslave the world leading them to spiritual destruction.
Reign of the Beast
During the reign of the beast, God will begin sending his prophesied judgments on the world and the beast. During this time, called the “great tribulation”, the beast will rule with evil intent and seek to control the whole world and skill the saints. But the tells us what the signs of judgment are—they are the wrath of God against the world not against God’s people. So although it will seem unbearable for believers during this time and some will people killed, it is part of God’s plan. God will rescue us from the hands of the beast and redeem us into His heavenly kingdom.
Most if not all of the technology required to put into place much of the tribulation system of the beast is already developed. The mark of the beast will be required for people to buy and sell, meaning it will control access to digital currency for normal living. We are told that the image of the beast will be given life and will have power over the people.
Right now, AI can be generated in any image you can imagine with a voice that can be highly convincing for being authentic. It can react and communicate across the world at light speed—much faster than any human. Plus it has no conscience, so it can act without mercy or oversight. With the advanced militaries of the world, dreaded weapons of mass-destruction, and attack drones, a global police state is inevitable and will crush all freedoms. But God’s people will recognize these oppressive systems when they happen and will resist or flee.
We have seen a recent uptick in earthquakes as well as signs in the sky. During 2014 and 2015 there were four lunar eclipses (a blood moon tetrad) that occurred six months apart, and another tetrad is predicted in 2032 and 2033. The Bible speaks of signs in the sun and the moon (Luke 21:25-26), and the last tetrad occurred near or during the Jewish feasts. I believe the next tetrad could very well happen during the tribulation just prior to the Lord’s return to earth.
Conclusion
Comparing these events to scripture and the Jewish feasts points to visible and verifiable fulfillment of prophesy. The next major event is the seventieth-week prophecy in Daniel 9. That marks the beginning of the last seven years before the Lord’s return. Some people believe that could have possibly happened in October of 2025 with Donald Trump’s announcement of the Board of Peace.
Time is running out. Now is the time for seeking the Lord. He is all merciful and even sent His Son Jesus Christ to pay for your sins so that you could be saved and forgiven. There is still time now to repent and turn to Jesus. There is a Savior who sacrificed himself to forgive you of your sins. He wants to be your savior. If you believe on Him as your savior, and believe that his death on the cross covers your sins, you must repent of your sins and follow Jesus. He will save you and give you the Holy Spirit to guide you. You will have eternal life with Him living in perfection. Or, you can continue living for yourself. You will have to bear the punishment alone for your sin against God. “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
